With the online system, say goodbye to paper permits and paper applications. Instead, you can apply, submit verification, pay, and manage permit(s) digitally. The system uses license plate numbers as virtual permits. We will not accept paper applications for these permits because the paper system has been replaced with a digital system.

Major Changes between paper-based system and online system:

Technology and Payment Requirements

 

To use the online permit system, you must be able to upload electronic versions of your supporting documents. 2 MB is the maximum size for files. The online permit system supports the upload of:

  • PDFs
  • Images - JPG, PNG

Additional requirements are access to computer or smart device. The online permit system is compatible with Google Chrome and the latest version of Microsoft Edge.

The online permit system accepts the following payment types:

  • Credit card: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express 
  • Debit card

We do not accept cash.

Refunds will not be issued once a permit has been processed. 

Gather Supporting Documents

Proof of Residence Applicants for the Commuter Resident,  Emerson Overnight, Maple Overnight and Overnight Visitor permits must provide proof of residence (residency requirements are defined under each permit type below).  Documents accepted as proof  are bank statement, credit card bill or Utility bill.  The proof must be dated within 30 days of the application and include the applicant's name and address.  Copies of e-bills are acceptable.   The proof of residence will be uploaded with your application.  PDF or .JPEG or supported document types. 

Proof of Business Applicants applying for the Downtown Business permit must provide proof of an active business within the downtown business district by submitting the current business license # with the application.

Prepare and Apply

  1. Login and make your profile. You can opt to receive SMS  and email notifications related to your permit. Expect to see some emails come from CaleWebOffice@calesystems.com. 

  2. Select your permit type.  See a list of permit types and descriptions below. 

  3. Upload electronic versions of supporting documentation. You will be prompted on which documents to upload. 2 MB is the maximum size for files.

  4. You will be notified within two (2) business days if your application has been approved. If approved, you will be prompted to make your payment through the online permit system. Please view one of the tutorials to view the payment process.

  5. Once approved, you are authorized to park your vehicle in lots assigned to your permit type. Your permit is tied to your license plate. 

  6. Manage your permits if you need to. You can update license plates, buy more permits, renew a permit and make other changes all through the online permit system.

  7. Entering license plates: Do not include dashes, spaces, or names of other states when entering in license plate information. If you have a specialty plate that includes two or three vertical letters to the right of the plate number, those letters must be included as part of the license plate number.   If you have a truck plate, you do not need to include the letter B or D that is to the right of the plate number.

Users With an Existing Account - Account Activation Message

If you are an existing user and receive an Account Activation message (image below) when logging in please follow the following steps.

Account Activation Error

1.  Click the Close button on the Account Activation message.

2.  Select the Forgot Password option

3. Reset your password following the instructions as presented by the software.
