The Mount Prospect Police Social Workers can assist by:
- Providing crisis intervention services,
- Court advocacy for victims of crime,
- Assistance with Criminal and Civil Orders of Protection.
Additionally, assessments can be completed to provide information/referrals/linkage to Human Services Department programs and services and other local agencies. Short-term counseling may be provided if deemed appropriate (typically 4-6 sessions).
Referrals to the Police Social Workers are primarily made by police officers or detectives who have had contact with individuals or families experiencing social, psychological and/or behavioral problems. The Police Social Workers work closely with the following groups to provide comprehensive services that meet the needs of the residents of Mount Prospect:
- Law enforcement
- Court personnel
- Local hospital staff
- School personnel
- Neighboring police social services
- Local community agencies
Services for residents are available in English and Spanish, at no cost and are confidential.
