The Village of Mount Prospect has a comprehensive Solid Waste Management program that promotes waste reduction and resource recovery.  The Village’s residential solid waste services are paid through an annual direct charge paid monthly with your water bill or quarterly if you do not receive Village provided water service.  The Village’s exclusive residential solid waste contract provides services to both single-family residences (curbside collection), multi-family (centralized refuse containers), and commercial properties.  The Public Works Department administers the solid waste contract and serves as the liaison between the resident and the refuse hauler.  Republic Services (originally ARC Disposal) has been the exclusive residential hauler for the Village since August of 1991.  The new contract with Republic Services is effective January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2027.
