The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce and American Chartered Bank invite the community to an After Hours Event on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. The After Hours event is a networking opportunity and a Fundraising Party for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) program. The event will be held at American Chartered Bank located at 111 E. Rand Road.

The YEA! Program is coming to Prospect High School this fall. YEA! offers students the opportunity to learn entrepreneurial principles through a yearlong project-based, innovative program. YEA! takes students through the entire business creation process – brainstorming ideas, writing business plans, pitching to potential investors, registering with government agencies – all the way to actually launching and running their businesses or non-profits. The program is seeking guest speakers, instructors, mentors, and investors. “This is a unique community. There is a large majority of young people who grow up here, get an amazing education in our school system and want to come right back here after college,” said Dawn Fletcher Collins, Executive Director of the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce. “We need to capitalize on that and make sure that they have what they need to succeed as business people in this world. After all, THEY are the future of Mount Prospect.”
