This monthly workshop provides entrepreneurs with a good idea of where to begin, what steps to take in securing capital in the form of SBA and Illinois Department of Economic Opportunity loan programs, angel and venture capital and other forms of financing. The workshop is designed to help current and potential business
owners understand how the bank/lender determines the criteria for awarding a loan. Credit history is discussed and the importance it plays in getting accepted for a loan. Also discussed is the truth about government
grants. This workshop is one of a series of three introductory workshops conducted on a monthly basis by the Illinois Small Business Development Center of Harper College.

Whether you're just starting out or scaling your business, this program will help you understand funding options available to you as an entrepreneur or small business owner. Join us to learn about:

Funding sources and how to access these sources.
Requirements for obtaining funding.
Advantages and disadvantages of different funding sources.

Additionally, we will present the fundamentals of a business plan and financial projections. Business mentoring from SCORE members will be available after the event.

Three industry experts answer questions and provide tips on business finances, business planning, and marketing/social media for your business. Following the panel, hear from SCORE Mentors and the Village and Library on resources offered to businesses right here in Mount Prospect.
