The Village has teamed up with Northwest Central Dispatch System (NWCDS) through their Everbridge emergency alert system to allow Mount Prospect residents, and non-residents interested in what is happening in Mount Prospect, to receive local alerts via text messaging and email. Residents are already receiving regional emergency alerts through the Everbridge system on their cell phone devices for things like Amber Alerts, emergency weather notifications and other high priority emergency events that may affect the entire region. Even if you do not sign up for further alerts, you will still receive these regional emergency alerts put out by NWCDS.

Subscribers may choose to receive one or all alert categories, and you may choose to receive alerts through text, email or both. The Everbridge link on the sign up page will take you to the Citizen Alert website of the NWCDS. Once there you will need to create an account, fill in your contact information and sign up for the alerts you are interested in receiving. It's quick and easy. When signing up, you will have the option to select notification categories which interest you. You can edit your notification selections at any time by logging into your account.

Community Alerts: will notify subscribers about events, projects, or temporary emergencies that may impact their day-to-day routine but may not necessarily impact their health or safety.

Such events will include: water outages, flooding, power outages, gas leaks, temporary road closures, winter operations, delays in garbage pick-up and changes or closures due to a special event.

Public Meetings: Alerts are sent when meeting agendas and meeting packets are available with a link to access the agendas and packets. Meetings included in notifications at this time are: Village Board Meetings, Committee of the Whole Meetings, and Planning and Zoning Commission Meetings.
