The Village of Mount Prospect’s Department of Public Works has developed a Strategic Plan to establish realistic expectations that act as a blueprint for the department’s operations. The Village’s overall goals and objectives drive the programs and new work initiatives Public Works spearhead each year. The plan has proven to be a successful tool that outlines the implementation process and highlights the milestones established to track and monitor progress for capital improvements, projects, and programs. It promotes effective work and efficient time management. With this intention, it guides employee actions, determines resource allocation, and stimulates meaningful collaboration across the department’s divisions. Working with the plan, the Village can monitor and track performance quarterly. As a result, schedules are reviewed, and necessary revisions of the plan are implemented to ensure that innovative thinking and best practices remain continuous. The plan is shared with all employees and made public yearly. We hope that you will read and track our progress, too.
