Real Estate Transfer Tax
Visit our new Online Transfer Stamp Application to apply, purchase, and receive your stamp electronically. NOTE: Electronic payment MUST BE SUBMITTED BY ONLINE APPLICANT for online real estate transfer stamps.
Appointments for the issuance of in-person Real Estate Transfer Stamps are strongly encouraged.
The Real Estate Transfer Tax form may be downloaded and printed with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Simply print the form, complete it, and submit it along with the required documentation listed below. Forms and supporting documentation may be faxed to 847/818-5336 or e-mail to welcomemp@mountprospect.org for review. (Include your name and contact information with faxed requests.) Once reviewed, a Finance team member will contact the requestor to schedule an appointment for stamp issuance or advise that there are issues that will prevent the issuance of the stamp.
Real Estate Transfer Tax Rebate Form
Real Estate Transfer Affidavit Declaring No Consideration (to be utilized for exempt transactions when an individual is being removed from the deed)
For transactions with consideration: A copy of the signed MyDec, P-TAX, or contract must accompany the Village form along with payment of the tax. If a legible signed contract is submitted, a copy of the MyDec or P-TAX must be submitted to the Village within 10 days of closing.
For transactions with no consideration: A copy of the signed, notarized deed must accompany the Village form along with payment for the exempt stamp. A Real Estate Transfer Affidavit Declaring No Consideration may be required for exempt transactions when an individual is being removed from a deed.
