Chapter 5 of the Village Code governs the establishment, governance and membership of the Village’s Boards and Commissions. Membership may consist of seats appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Village Board, elected seats (such as the Firefighters Pension Board - of which two seats are elected by firefighters), or are codified in Chapter 5 (such as the Fire Chief serving on the Firefighters Pension Board). How to Participate 

Individuals who serve the Village in this capacity find the experience to be both challenging and rewarding.
