The Illinois Department of Transportation will soon begin resurfacing work on IL Route 83 (Main Street) between Northwest Highway and Evergreen Avenue in downtown Mount Prospect. Initial work will include storm sewer repairs, curb replacement, and sidewalk replacement.

Motorists can expect delays with daily lane closures during construction. Upon completion of the initial work, the contractor will evaluate whether there is sufficient time to resurface the roadway with new asphalt prior to Mount Prospect’s 4^th of July parade. If so, construction will continue until completion. Otherwise, construction will resume after July 4.  Again, there will be daily lane closures during the resurfacing portion of the project.
