The Village of Mount Prospect Public Health Nurse has started up weekly Health Screening Clinics for residents of Mount Prospect. Health Screening Clinics will take place each Monday from 9 AM until 11 AM in the nurse’s office. The nurse’s office is located at Village Hall on the second floor within the Human Services Department. No appointment is required.
Health Screening Clinics will include a free blood pressure reading, blood glucose screening, heart rate check, and oxygen saturation level. Residents may also request a $2 total cholesterol check if interested. In addition, the nurse will be providing $20 Complete Lipid Panel blood screenings. Lipid Panel screenings will require an appointment - please call the Human Services Department at 847-870-5680 for more information.
The goal of weekly Health Screening Clinics is to enable residents to both understand and monitor important factors that affect their overall health. The nurse will provide an explanation of the results and education as needed. If needed, the nurse will also offer support and advice based on the resident’s clinic findings.
In January, the Village of Mount Prospect Human Services Department welcomed its new Public Health Nurse, Nicole Cooper-Ffrench. Along with Cooper-Ffrench’s hiring, the Village is able to provide this free and low-cost clinic to Mount Prospect residents.
“The Village is thrilled to be bringing this service back to the community. I am so excited to begin promoting the health and wellbeing of the residents of Mount Prospect as the new Public Health Nurse,” said Cooper-Ffrench. “It is evident that the Human Services Department has built a strong and caring relationship with the community and I am grateful to now be a part of it!”
Cooper-Ffrench has been an RN for the past 5 years and worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse prior to her employment at the Village. She is looking forward to expanding her professional skills by working with a broader range of patient populations and having an impact on community health needs. Her emphasis will be on education, prevention and early detection of health conditions.
