Sidewalk Replacement
The Village of Mount Prospect is conducting its annual “Shared Cost Sidewalk
Program” for 2010. This program gives residents the opportunity to replace their
broken or displaced public sidewalk, and share the cost with the Village. The
Village will hire a contractor to complete the work this summer. The work will
include removing the old sidewalk, installing new concrete, and backfilling
along the edges of the new sidewalk with topsoil where necessary. To help hold
down the program cost, the Village requests the residents to install grass seed
along the edges as necessary. If the squares to be replaced are adjacent to a
driveway in poor condition, the contractor will repair only a portion of the
driveway (1’ typical width) if necessary. The cost to the residents is $55.00
for a sidewalk square, which includes repairing the 1’ width of driveway, if
applicable.
If you are interested in participating in this program, please complete the
application form below. Return it along with your payment of $55.00 per sidewalk
square to the Engineering Division. The deadline for submitting applications is
April 30, 2010. Checks should be made payable to the Village of Mount Prospect.
Please mark those sidewalk squares to be included in the program with a painted
